Storm Boelo pops in, rearranges the trees, leaves without apologising

Storm Boelo (pronounced "Boo-loh", like a ghost with a cold) came through this weekend. It treated East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire like a garden it didn't have to tidy.
A yellow wind warning ran until 9pm on Sunday 25 October. By 2:30pm on Sunday, Northern Powergrid said 13,943 properties across the two areas had lost power at some point, and 5,757 were still without electricity. That's a lot of fridges having a quiet think.
Here in North Lincolnshire, a fallen branch blocked part of a road in Eastoft, in the Isle of Axholme. Humberside Police said some roads were closed because of toppled trees. Trains between Sheffield and Lincoln were hit by delays and cancellations, and Northern strongly advised people to avoid travelling at all. Sunday's tickets could be used on Monday or Tuesday instead.
Northern Powergrid said its teams were working to restore supplies "wherever it is safe to do so". Thanks to everyone out in that weather fixing things.
SRN Verdict
The good news: forecasters say it should be drier and calmer later this week. Until the next one with a name.
